Staten Island Garden Club
The Staten Island Garden Club was founded in 1914 by Alice Austen and incorporated in June 1915. Meetings are held the 4th Wednesday of each month at 12:30PM at All Saints Episcopal Church, 2329 Victory Blvd., Staten Island NY 0314 except Jan., July, Aug. and Nov. Our club's objectives are: to foster and inspire interest in gardens and to promote their creation; to cooperate in the achievement of community welfare; to promote programs of informative character pertaining to gardens, flower propagation and artistic design, to cultivate social relations among its members conducive to the welfare of the club and the promotion of joy and pleasure for its members and to encourage appreciation of flowers, horticulture and design. In addition to supporting the First District's Projects; the club maintains the grounds at the following: Alice Austen House Museum, Fireman's Memorial on Clinton Avenue, NYC Greenstreets at Slosson Avenue and Todt Hill Road and Anthony R. Gaeta Park on Wyona Avenue and Victory Blvd. Other projects include Arbor Day Tree Planting, New Yorkers for Parks Daffodil Project, and Festive Holiday Decorations at Alice Austen House Museum.
