Great Kills Garden Club
The Great Kills Garden Club was formed in 1954 and joined the Federated Garden Clubs of NYS in 1956. The club has approximately 60 members. Our meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:30 PM at the Great Kills Moravian Church, Hillside Terrace and Locust Avenue. We participate in civic beautification, maintaining gardens at Seaside Nature Park and most recently, the entrance gardens at Bloomingdale Park. Our club has a flower show every year which is open to the public free of charge. We also participate in planting a tree every year for Arbor Day as well as planting flowers with the children at Seton Foundation for learning in recognition of National Garden Week. We participate in the annual Flower Festival at St. Paul's Historic Church. Our fundraising events include our annual bus trip to the Philadelphia Flower Show. Our monthly meeting may include a guest speaker, floral design instruction, creative workshops, in-club horticulture competition and most importantly, friendship with other people who enjoy gardening.
