The First District Flower Show

Mark the date! The First District Flower Show will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010. The theme of the show will be Fiddler on the Roof. Show Chairman Leslie Heffner presented the show trifold at the recent District meeting. You can download the trifold by clicking here. There’s still time to sign up for designs. Info on who to call is in the trifold.

Did you attend the District Workshop?

Lee Gugliada. and a team of judges, held a flower arrangement workshop following the regular monthly meeting of the First District on Monday. There will be another workshop following the March meeting. If you missed it, here’s what you missed. :)

Is your club up-to-date?

It’s time to check the District online calendar to make sure all of your club’s activities for the coming year are up-to-date. If you have anything to add, please send an email to Joel Heffner.

New Year’s Gardening Resolution?

Do you make resolutions for the following year…and keep them? [I don't either.]

How about trying only one resolution. Pick a plant you’ve never grown before and decide to grow it in 2010. Maybe your garden club can make a list of what each member wants to grow in 2010 and make it part of your next month’s minutes. Then…next year you can come back to check on who actually did it. Each member might even take a picture of it to show at a meeting…in 2011!

Happy 2010 both in and out of the garden!

Trees are everywhere…

If you look outside, most trees have snow on them. However, if you peak inside many homes you’ll find very colorful trees.

Merry Christmas!
